Carefully, I stepped from the cruise liner’s gangway, waiting for the swelling waves to break before I did my stunt. Taking one fast stride, I was seated in my rubber boat. Within just a short period of time, our small exploration group bounced through a napping seal and chunks of floating ice that shimmered blue. Finally, the boat stops on a rocky beach, so my legs are swung above the zodiac to step onto the northern part of the Antarctic Peninsula.
