Experiencing a Hawaii cruise is a dream come true for many people around the world. Very few travel adventures can live up to the thrill of sailing out into the depths of the Pacific Ocean on a luxury cruise liner in search of a paradise that is Hawaii and her neighboring islands. And what a paradise it is too! Beautiful women with sarongs dancing on the beach, palm trees laden with coconuts and tropical drinks down by the gently lapping waves is what you will get to experience on a Hawaiian cruise.
For Canadian and American citizens, there are Hawaii cruises departing from a variety of seaports along North America’s west coast. While many ports along the coastline have Hawaiian cruises, Seattle, San Diego, and Vancouver are the prime area’s for departure locations.
Hawaiian cruise vacations usually consist of a 15-18 day round trip, taking in Hawaii and a couple of other nearby island ports. If you are interested in a one way trip, you can take the cruise strait to Hawaii then fly home.
Many companies also offer extended Hawaii cruise vacations of 25-30 days or more. These extended cruises offer a great choice for people who want to have a more intense adventure once they reach Hawaii, and for people who’d like to spend more time on the neighboring islands of Lanai, Maui, Kauai and Oahu.
Even if you are the more restless type who does not enjoy lazing around in front of a pool simply taking in the sun, Hawaiian cruises can offer on land adventures to satisfy you. On the Big Island itself you can turn intrepid adventurer and explore the dormant volcanoes of Mauna Kea or the smaller Kilauea crater. If you don’t like to hike, you can also do a helicopter tour through the Circle of Fire.
The Kona Cloud Forest hike takes you through a botanical walk on the Big Island near the port of Kona. Don’t forget you still have plenty of ocean to explore; from snorkeling to surfing to taking an underwater adventure in a submarine; your Hawaiian cruise can offer a little bit of everything!
