Hawaiian dresses are extremely popular among women. Besides the vibrant mood they evoke, one reason for their popularity is that they come in any size and style. In fact, they even come in plus sizes.

Even petite and slim women should try sporting a Hawaiian dress of plus size. The outfit looks perfect if it is placed above a bikini top, especially during the warm season. Instead of making the ladies look bigger, wearing plus sizes make them even sexier.

Types of Hawaiian plus size dresses

There are mainly two types of Hawaiian plus size dresses, namely the sarong and the muumuu. Within each category are a bevy of styles that every woman can enjoy and love.

A sarong is a large garment that is wrapped around the body or just around the waist. It can also make for a great scarf or even shawl during cold nights. When used as a Hawaiian plus size dress, a sarong comes in big, vibrant flowers. While sarongs can be worn without anything else, they are great as a top layer for tank tops, bathing suits or bikinis. They can even serve as a makeshift mat on the beach, especially if the sand is scorchingly hot.

On the other hand, a muumuu is a traditional Hawaiian garment that loosely hangs around a woman’s shoulders. However, it is less common than a sarong and other Hawaiian plus size apparel. It is also used as a maternity dress more than anything else.

Hawaiian dresses are so popular that you don’t have to take a flight to Hawaii or make a visit to a Hawaiian store just to avail of them. Some mainstream retail stores actually include some of them in their selection. They even have plus sizes of these Hawaiian garments among their products.
