Money To Spare? Rolex Watches Can Make a Statement
June 21, 2009 | Leave a Comment
Rolex is one of the few brands to be world known. When many people think of the name Rolex they often time picture people of extreme wealth. Very few individuals will ever come into enough money to purchase a Rolex watch. But those who are wealthy might be in the market for one. When you think about it can you justify paying such large amounts of money for a single watch?
Manufacturing about 2,000 watches per day Rolex is the worlds largest supplier of top of the line luxury watches. The brand got its start in Geneva Switzerland when watch maker Hans Wilsdorf began revolutionizing the field with his new designs and models in 1905. Rolex watches have always been at the cutting edge of technology and design. The Swiss brand was the first watch company to offer water proof cases as well as the first self winding watch in 1931. The tradition of innovation is still very much alive to this day in the Rolex Company.
Rolex watches are only made with the best material available. These materials are extremely durable passing on the traits to the finished product. The watches are very resistant to damage and can even withstand the immense amounts of pressure change from deep sea diving or flying high above in the atmosphere. These drastic change in atmosphere (more commonly known as cabin pressure when in an air plane) can severely damage low quality watches. While many people will never feel the need to explore the ocean floor in a submarine or fly in anything but commercial airlines these watches can weather the pressure. This amazing feature makes these watches incredibly durable to everyday use.
A Rolex watch can also make the wearer appear to be wealthy. This may be a little vain but, it is true. Wearing a Rolex watch can make a very bold statement (in a good way) about your own personal wealth and finances. Along with depicting wealth Rolex watches also signify high fashion. These watches are considered works of art and youll be treated as a person who can pull off such a luxurious look.
Unfortunately many people cannot afford a Rolex watch. For the price of a single Rolex a person can purchase a car or even a lease on a house. Many ordinary people cannot use their disposable income on such an item. Additionally a person of wealth might feel the same way about spending all that money on one piece of jewelry.
With the Rolex being made out of such high quality parts it takes an equal amount of care and precision to repair a broken Rolex watch. Despite being very durable the watches are not completely impervious to scratches and damage. For the cost of repair one could purchase a completely new Rolex watch. This idea though seems very wasteful.
If one can afford to purchase a Rolex watch they must first weight the various pros and cons. But for the regular working man or woman we must settle for their inexpensive competitors.
