Mexico is one of the best places in the world to spend your holidays. However, it is important to go though some vital information about the country before going there. Doing this will allow you to explore the country better and also will make your trip hassle free.
Here are few things that you should do to make your trip comfortable:
Language Barrier
Since Spanish is the most spoken language in Mexico, it is vital to learn it before you go there. You will find many people communicating in English as well, but learning Spanish will allow you to explore the country better. You can even keep an English/Spanish dictionary with you while visiting the country.
ID Proof
It is advisable to carry a photo ID proof during your trip. The ID proof can be your passport, tourist card, proof of citizenship or Driving license. Present these whenever asked by the authorities.
Prepare the list for things you can carry
Before stepping in the country, you should know about the belongings you can carry. Mentioned below are some of these:
* Sporting gear
* Books and Magazines
* Medicines and prescriptions
* Clothing, toiletries and shoes
* Maximum 20 Cassettes and records
* Portable musical instruments
* Portable TV, VCR and a typewriter
* Skiing, fishing equipment along with tennis rackets
* Alcohol-containing beverage, not exceeding three liters, and 50 cigars or 400 cigarettes for tourists over 18 years of age

Fill All Necessary Forms
You have to fill two forms for your trip to Mexico. The first one is for temporary visa, which is usually distributed at the airline ticket counter or in the flight. The other one is called Hacienda, which is meant for the Customs and Taxation. Both the forms have to be filled with black ink pen.
Carry the Local Currency
Although, some businesses might accept American Dollars, it is always advisable to carry some Mexican pesos with you as well. Your MasterCard, Visa and AmEx logo credit cards and traveler’s checks are also accepted everywhere in Mexico.
Hygiene
While in Mexico, take care of the hygiene factor. There is no need to drink any tap water. Always go for sufficiently boiled or bottled water. Wash, peel and cook any fruit or vegetable before eating it.
Carry Photocopies
Keep photocopies of tickets and a list of traveler’s check with you during the trip.
