There are also other great exhibits like the Amazon Rising, Caribbean Reef, Waters of the World, and the Wild Reef, which opened in 2003. The Wild Reef recreates the Apo Island Marine reserve, a coral reef found in the Philippines. The exhibit is complete with living coral, multiple species of fish and rays, and a collection of sharks which can be viewed up close behind 12-foot (3.7 m) high curved windows.

Shedd Aquarium as I mentioned offers Amazon Rising for you to see exotic animals from of course, the Amazon. Don’t be surprised if you see enormous anacondas and the notorious piranhas. In this exhibit you will able to see spiders and crocodiles and turtles. You could also observe how this region’s animal adapts to the changes in the swampy region.

Another upcoming attraction to soon take center stage is Fantasea. Its debut is set this October and it will showcase talents of skills of dolphins, playful belugas and penguin’s parade.

The Shedd Aquarium is truly a Chicago attractions perfect for the kids. Another popular area is the Polar Play Zone. Like an actual polar playground, you could dress like penguins and feel the ambiance being a penguin in a cold and icy setting. After a playful stop in the Polar Play Zone you could head your way to Icy North to investigate in a kid-sized submarine Belugas’ in Arctic waters- kid’s will surely dig this experience.
