If you are planning a romantic getaway to the Sunshine Coast , then surely you will want to take the time to come and tour the beautiful wineries of the region. Nestled throughout the cooler regions of the coast in the valleys are some of the most incredible wineries in the entire Queensland , and this region is rapidly becoming the center of wine production in Australia .
Most of the Sunshine Coast vineyards are a short drive from the popular city of Brisbane, in the cooler valleys that surround the coastal region. The temperature and landscape provide an ideal, fertile land that contributes to the excellent quality of grapes, and the overall quality of the wine. Most of the vineyards offer a diverse sampling of the local cuisine, in addition to the wine, including local cheese tasting, gourmet picnics and even restaurants where you can enjoy a meal while sampling the vineyards offerings. Australian wines are known for their rich, full taste, and when you get to sample the different varieties at the vineyard you will understand why.
If you are interested in visiting the vineyards in the region, two of the most popular are the Little Morgue Winery and Robinson at Noosa.
The Little Morgue Winery – The Little Morgue Winery is located at what used to be an actual morgue, which makes this one vineyard you won’t soon forget. While the outside of the building may look like an old haunted house, the inside has been gorgeously remodeled to reflect the fine wines that are bottled here. The Little Morgue Winery has a wonderful restaurant that follows the theme of the rest of the vineyard, including items such as Sudden Death by Chocolate, Mummified Flesh, and one of the vineyards outstanding wines, Supreme Afterlife. If you are going to visit the vineyards in Australia’s Sunshine Coast region, you cannot miss the Little Morgue Winery.
Robinsons At Noosa – Robinson at Noosa is conveniently located at the heart of the Sunshine Coast’s vineyards. Robinson at Noosa is both a vineyard and Bread & Breakfast, so if you are planning to visit multiple vineyards over several days, this is the ideal place to stay. The B&B has a saltwater pool and driving range, to allow you to unwind after a day touring the country side. In addition to the fine wines found at Robinson at Noosa there are several comfortable rooms, and excellent food in the B &B, making this vineyard a perfect place to escape for a few days.
There are a variety of wineries to check out in this region, so be sure to make a day trip and take them all in, or spend the evening with the Robinsons while touring the region.
