Tips For Having A Great Honeymoon
October 30, 2009 | Leave a Comment
Honeymoons are too often seen as secondary to the planning of the wedding itself, when, as far as memories go, they are just as significant as your day in church. Your honeymoon is a time that you’ll never forget as long as you live, so think carefully about honeymoon ideas and honeymoon locations.
Initially determine what your goals are for the time you’ll be away and what you absolutely can’t do without. What parts of the world interest you? Do you want to relax or be active? What are your priorities? Cost, adventure, sightseeing, weather, etc.
Trips to exclusive resorts or islands are traditionally popular, and for good reason. Such trips mean that you can enjoy quality, quiet time with each other whilst unwinding from the busy timetable of the previous few months and taking in stunning surroundings.
Another option is to take a cruise; they offer an equally quiet, relaxing experience whilst at the same time allowing you to take in a range of destinations. Should you prefer a more action-packed honeymoon, give consideration to a mountain resort or an adventure travel trip (such as backpacking or a safari).
Regarding honeymoon locations, consider the following: Australia, Bahamas, Bali, Canada, Costa Rica, Egypt, France, Hawaii, Maldives, Seychelles, Spain.
Whichever type of location and honeymoon you decide on, look to book it at least 6 months in advance to ensure that you’ll get the best choice of rooms, and can start planning in general.
As soon as your hotel is arranged, starting researching and booking tours, tickets, restaurant seats, and any other activities for which advance reservations can be needed, especially if you’re traveling in the summer months (bear in mind that different locations will have different peak seasons).
Do what you can to make your honeymoon stand out from any other vacation. In addition to normal vacation items, try taking some fun extras with you, like romantic music, candles, bubble bath, massage lotion and lingerie.
