Tips On Getting The Best Rental

Before agreeing to any rental contract there are a few things that you need to take into consideration. Although it may be tempting to accept the cheapest rate you were quoted, without the proper knowledge this policy may end up costing you more then the most expensive quote that you received.
1. Rent From a Company You Have Heard Of: There are many smaller companies that will offer you, what seems like, an excellent deal on your car rental. However, if your car brakes down on the side of the road in the middle of the night, they often times, do not have any night time coverage leaving you to pay for repairs or tows. This will result in your inexpensive rental turning into a large expense that you were not expecting.
2. Have Your Rental Agreement Mailed To You: Before you go to pick up your rental ask the company to email, mail or fax you a copy of your rental agreement. This will allow you to review all the terms and search for any additional fees prior to picking up your rental vehicle. If you wait until you arrive to pick up your vehicle, many times an individual will sign the agreement without even looking it over. This can end up costing you more money that you had planned on spending, which is why it is important to review it before you are ready to travel.
3. CHECK THEM OUT. Although they may be a company you have heard of occasionally some locations function better than others, so be sure to check out the location with the Better Business Bureau and online to see what people are saying. This is a good way to get a feel for what you can expect from them before you rent.
4. Always Take Unlimited Mileage: If you are renting your vehicle for a vacation then unlimited miles will be something that you want to ask about. This will make for a more relaxed vacation since you do not have to map out every place you go and how many miles you have used up. Although adding unlimited miles to your contract may cost you a few extra dollars, you will save much more in the long run.
5. ROAD SERVICE. This is a big item that can vary greatly from company to company, so know in advance how it will be handled if your vehicle breaks down while you are on the road. Finding out their policy in advance can save you a lot of trouble when you are on the road.
