Experienced Skiers Use Grocery Delivery In Park City To Avoid Running Errands On Vacation
November 4, 2009 | Leave a Comment
The annual ski vacation is a tradition for many families who enjoy the outdoors and like to get together with their family in a ski town over the holidays. The ski vacation experience can be something your kids will remember warmly and once they`re grown up they may even continue with their own children. But will you have the same warm memories?
You`ve taken your time to research the lodging choices and you`ve reserved a beautiful rental home near Park City Mountain Resort in Park City, UT. Your house rental is just a short walk to the slopes and you`re conveniently situated on the free shuttle route so everyone, including the kids, will have access to the shuttle.
You tried to think of everything but you expect that a snag on your first day can potentially cause an poor beginning to your family ski vacation. You`re scheduled to arrive in Salt Lake City by 1:15PM in the afternoon. All you have to do is grab your luggage and then jump on the shuttle to Park City so you can pick up your keys at the property manager. If everything goes to plan you should be dropping off your bags at the condo sometime around 2:30PM.
After dropping off your luggage, you will round up the group for a quick trip into town on the shuttle. The first order of business is to feed your tired and hungry group before stopping at the equipment rental shop to pick up your rentals. Once you`ve picked up all the skis and boots, its back to the condo to dump off the skis and kids so you can go back out to handle the grocery shopping and liquor store run. Hopefully you`ll be back at your vacation rental by 6:30PM or 7:00PM.
Of course, you might save some time by using a cab instead of the town shuttle or skip the cab and shuttle altogether and rent an SUV, but with the exception of your arrival and departure, you`ll most likely leave your vehicle in the garage the remainder of the week.
So far so good, but you didn`t expect the long delays at the ski rental shop, the grocery store, and the liquor store. It`s almost as if everyone in town was going to the exact same places you are at the same time! Since the lifts close around 3:30PM the busiest places in town from 4:00PM to 8:00PM are the liquor store, grocery store, and equipment rental shops. The stores are not only busy during this time, you`ll often end up waiting in line for 30 to 60 minutes during the busy season.
Now imagine your hopes for a snow storm come true, as they often do in Park City, and you add ten inches of fresh snow to your arrival day plans. And we haven`t yet considered what happens if your plane arrives at 4:00PM instead of earlier as planned, your shuttle is late, you make a wrong turn in your rental car, there`s heavy traffic on your way through town, or the kids are just moody and tired, etc.
The possibility for delays is always there, but it doesn`t have to affect your long deserved vacation. Suppose your vacation home was already neatly stocked with groceries, everything carefully placed in the refrigerator and neatly arranged in the pantry, all just when you walk in the door. Now you can prepare everyone a snack and actually relax in lieu of running a bunch of errands. The only thing to do now is wait for the ski rental delivery company to arrive and fit everyone`s ski rental equipment right in your home.
Even if you have flight delays, traffic delays, a dump of Park City snow, you`ve planned ahead and your trip will start the way you anticipated. Delivery services like Ski Butlers www.skibutlers.com and The Grocery Girls www.thegrocerygirls.com can make sure your errands are handled no matter what unforeseen complications are thrown your way.
So take a few moments to make your Park City vacation a relaxing and memorable one. Place your grocery delivery order with The Grocery Girls and they`ll coordinate with your rental manager to stock your condo before you arrive. The final thing for you to do is answer the door when your ski delivery technicians arrive to delivery your rentals. Now doesn`t that sound like a better way to kick off your next Park City ski vacation?
