Like most Americans, I like to travel a lot and I think, you too like to go on vacations. If you want to take a vacation break, it doesn’t actually mean that you’re guaranteed with safety. When we plan a vacation break, we are too pre-occupied with what we are escaping from, like a job and all the accompanying stress, but there is always danger looming wherever we go. Let me offer you these safety points that you can take into consideration so that you will be guaranteed of a safe journey.
It is most likely that you would carry a baggage with you when you travel but see to it that putting your postal address in your baggage is something that you would never do. A case tag is more likely to be found along with your baggage and the only personal details that are advisable to be written there are your name and phone number. So if someone had found it, he is sure to call you and return the baggage.
The reason you won’t want to put your full address on it is because if the thief finds something worth of value, they may think there’s more at your home. It’s always a safe bet just to leave your first and last name.
Keep your baggage clear of important papers. Clothes and other things that you can risk losing are the only things that should be kept in your luggage. Never place valuables in your luggage such as your charge cards, passport, important documents, etc. As I mentioned it earlier, if someone can access these items, he has all your personal details.
Don’t be flashy: Some travellers love to show off their money and a lot of them show it off but deep down, they’re thousands in debt. If you wear some flashy costly jewellery, you’re more likely to be pursued by a thief and ending you up in a place and predicament where you never wanted to be. You’re just another traveller in an airport. Just think to yourself, “How many people do you really check out for their style”?
Clean out the notecase: Check your billfold for any junk sheets and other useless items to avoid unnecessary bulk during your next journey. According to travel gurus, it is better to journey light and not carry multiple charge cards and papers which are best left at home in a secure place. Carrying at least one credit card is more than sufficient. When you do bring one charge card, make sure that you note the phone number so that if it does get stolen, you can call and cancel ASAP.
I can give you more worthwhile hints on safety during travel, but you are the only individual who will know what is best for you. The most critical point to remember is not to flaunt or carry things, which are worthwhile when travelling. Bring things that you can afford to lose! If you can follow this concept, you’ll be the safest traveller around!
